Long patchwork & woven shelf decoration with embroidered flowers in yellow, green and brown, a lovely and collectable piece.
These were dowry pieces called 'patchitpati' - it comes from Kutch in Gujarat a region famed for its folk art dyed fabrics and weavings.
In the last image you can see a typical mud-built Kutch dwelling with similar pieces and wall painted versions of the same. Collected in the 1990s.
