‘Baluch' or Nomad Tribal Kilim in Madder Red

A 3m 30cm long tribal kilim from the harsh mountaineous and desert region known as Baluchistan, the land of the Nomad tribes, this is a very good condition piece and may have been hung rather than used as a floor covering, the decoration is simple with bands of brown and white on a deep madder red ground, the spots of colour in brown, green and at the hem of the carpet or the selvedge’ is a nice decorative touch.
