West Country Candle-stand with Burr-Ash Top
Ref: 4928
A primitive piece with aspirations beyond it’s station, said to be a lacemaker’s candle stand from Cornwall, it has a 26cm wide top which is 1 inch thick, with moulded rim & is made of solid figured burr ash, the tripod base is also unusually bold not to say extravagant. The mid-tier would have been a gallery with spindles which no longer remain. This is the candle stand but fully loaded with spec.
