Antique Fruitwood Work Table with Oak Legs
Ref: 6796
Great look to this traditional work table from Central Europe (Austria/Balaton region) sometimes called ‘pig bench’ they were actually general work station tables and this one being so clean may have been used to harvesting plant fibres or for bread - it’s got a 3” thick one piece top in sycamore or beech (a wood with antiseptic hygienic qualities suitable for use), the legs as typical are a different wood and harwood to prevent decay. This could be a console, desk or kitchen station - if you wanted to adapt it it could be a coffee table.
