Paintings Pre 1900 » “Haywain with Moat & Castle Ruin”
Ref: 6676
A large decorative oil on canvas in original frame and in untouched country house condition, you could call this by a follower of Constable, a rural scene typically British, with cart, moat, trees and ruined Norman castle, just the sort of native historical mice-en-scene made popular by Turner and Constable in the 19th century. The paint handling is free and expressive, the composition and colour pleasing and harmonious. Great value.
