Sweet Peasant Cupboard in Original Grey
Ref: 3659
One characteristic type of folk furniture found in parts of Romania and made in the old days are these cupboards. This is one of the best examples I have seen.
Nicely heavy, made of beechwood and made in the same way and decorated in the same way as the "arcs" or hewn coffers (ref 3631 or ref 3637) found throughout the Romanian highlands as well as in other parts of Europe.
These cupboards will be found in most ethnographic museums and illustrated in studies. They make a nice occasional table or lamp table. This one is painted in an original pale grey and is very good condition.
