Folk Art of Europe & Rest of World »
Still Life Naïve, 2nd of pair
Ref: 4112
An attractive naïve oil on canvas, signed, from Eastern Europe. You have to tilt the map to see that egions of Eastern Europe that we may associate with cold, bleakness and poverty are actually quite southerly and in the life style as in the imagery of the folk art (as here) there is much of the bounty, wine, sun and good life that we associate with peasant life in the Mediterranean. A happy piece, and by the same artist as ref 4105.
