Not al of these folk art paintings on glass were religious icons, the peasants also liked rustic scenes like this one, it's got some wear as you can see but the way the artist has abbreviated the landscape detail into a decorative arrangement of dots, dashes and splashes of colour is notable and looks forward to later modern art styles.
