Ref: 3536
A small and appealing carving of a striped tiger, a demonic looking beast somewhat out of a Lewis Carrol fantasy, but probably representing the "were-tiger" of folk legend. This piece lends itself to being hand-held - the underneath is curved with traces of white paint and is polished suggesting this was some kind of mortar or tool for grinding.
