An appealing combination of indigenous Indian and colonial (Regency) iconography in this finely carved wooden “keystone”, an elephant (Ganesh) supported by rampant lions, symbolising wealth, prosperity & power. A collector piece, coming from the entrance of no doubt a fine town mansion, with traces of original paint.
