A glazed marriage dresser commissioned and painted in the traditional style as part of a dowry suite of furniture it comes from the villages east of Cluj or Kolosvar in Central Transylvania and the Calvinist Magyar people who lived there.
The base is a chest of drawers (which could be purchased separately) and the top section sits on it. These are increasingly difficult to buy - it could be our last ever!
