Primitive Painted Oak Lyre-Back Stick Chair
Ref: 7070
A charming country chair from Eastern Europe that appears to be a pared-down utilitarian version of the lyre-back chair that was fashionable in the early 19th century and would have been seen in mahogany or walnut veneer in town settings, often associated with Duncan Phyfe. It is made of oak and has original paint (blue under the olive brown). Very solid. Seat is 45cm.
