Primitive Fruitwood Mortar & Pestle
Ref: 3580
Another primitive mortar and pestle from the remote mountain villages, this one looks medieval and may well be very old, it is made of one piece of wood either fruitwood or beech aged in colour and has a long pole for pestle with metal end. It has a split as you can see. It is a distinctly sculptural looking object, suitable as a film prop to create the look of the middle ages but also suitable to sit in a contemporary interior amongst modern art objects.
