Primitive Butcher Block Table
Ref: 4885
An impressive antique butcher or work table, efficiently made consisting of only 5 parts, 4 tall adzed ash wood legs that are driven into a single hewn slab of pale clean wood, probably birch or sycamore, that is up to 4” thick.
This would make a desk, console, side table or island, or could be reduced in height to make a coffee table. These tables have acquired the name pin benches or butcher blocks but they were used for a variety of purposes mostly outdoor work involving cleaning and processing and harvesting.
