Pale Ash Settling Dish

A pale ash wood adze carved dish or bowl, wooden bowls of this form were sometimes used for settling milk in the process of making cheese and yoghurt, hence the hard tight grained wood. A welsh one recently sold at auction for almost £2000. Unwaxed.
