Large Sculptural Antique Flax Comb
Ref: 3119
Primitive sculptural carved wooden artefact in dark fruitwood from Eastern Europe.
It is actually a flax comb just on a bigger scale than the norm - flax combs are for loosening matted natural fibres prior to hand spinning - most are for sheep's wool, this one we are told was for horse hair! Another piece which should be in a museum or in a collection of extraordinary found objects.
