Four Neapolitan Creche Figures in Terracotta & Wood
Ref: 4893
A feature of Neopolitan folk art was the creation of toys, puppets and creche or crib figures like these, fashioned from terracotta and wood and hand painted, it is said they were made by fine artists, and you can see in spite of the condition here the quality of the modelling & painting. These are dressed in the original period fabric & costume. Definitely unrestored condition but early, a nice find.
