Exceptional & Large Root or Burr Bowl
Ref: 4313
An exceptional and large carved burr wood or root wood bowl probably used for kava or mead, or, for some such ritual beverage. Two handles to the side, one completely worn away. The piece is carved out of a huge and ancient burl of wood with swirling tight grain with rich patina. Other than the handles there is a rim or edge & the suggestion of great age is further suggested by the fact that this has worn away in places.
