Ref: 7020
An unusual form of furniture essentially a plate and spice rack but with small feet suggesting it was sat on a inset shelf in rustic cottage or on a side prep table. It was perhaps ‘the’ dresser in a humble peasant dwelling. The carving is also distinctive consisting of rope-twist and pineapples which both have positive and homely significations. The shelves have bars for plates and there is a cut-out in one shelf for a pot of some kind perhaps one intended to hold spoons and cutlery.
