A decorative craft made plate from Transylvania, the Rooster is the symbol of the area where these plates come from where yearly fairs celebrating the local craft of pottery making are held. The plates are fired by the men and their wives and daughters traditionally decorate them in the distinctive local style using cow horns and goose feathers to apply the colours in spirals.
