A very good condition smaller sized shepherd or highlander’s chest or offer in the form of an ancient sarcophagus - you can see the age from the way the wooden pegs protrude squeezed out in time as the wood hardens and dries. This one probably lived at a bed end for many generations, you can see how the lid was carefully lifted over time and the paint has worn away. Beechwood. No worm.
