Ref: 4866
A classic pair of Irish antique country chairs, called ‘sugan’ which means twisted rope. These have had the rope seats recently restored in the traditional manner.
They are a nice condition pair which show the traditional mortise and tenon construction. Original decorative scumble paint. The back legs in typical style curve gently back and taper lending support to the sitter, and this indicates
they are pieces of good age. The back supports also splay outwards nicely.
