Ref: 3650
A vivid and appealing painted folk carving from Romania of the Orthodox priest, visionary artist and holy man Arsenie Bock. At a time when Christianity was made illegal he became a martyr, a symbol of anti-communist resistance and a hero of the common people continually persecuted by the secret services and serving time in penal labour camps. To have a statue of him in the Romanian home would be regarded as auspicious and bring luck.
