Ref: 2092
In Central and Eastern Europe the storks′ nest on a telegraph pole or a rooftop in the centre of the village is a familiar sight and the habitual comings and goings of the bird mark the calendar for the country dweller and are a poignant sight with plentiful warm associations of home, so it is not surprising to see the stork as a loved subject of this local folk artist of yesteryear from Slovakia. We have come across this stork artist’s works before and as often the primitive carved and wooden birds are presented in "family" groups.
The legs are metal, the rest wood and here two are mounted in concrete and stone, whilst one lacks a base and the other is mounted in a log. These are quite large sculptures, the dimension given refers to the largest one, and they are available singly or as a group from £195 or £495 for the group of four.
