Country Box Seat with Lattice Back in Original Condition
Ref: 4256
A pine and hardwood box settle from Transylvania, evidence again of how the country furniture imitated the forms of finer town furniture, here the back rest in crossed or lattice form with echoes of Glasgow School and the Neue Style that was a European wide phenomenon.
This is a late 19th century piece in it's original grain paint, a neat smaller size, with good wear, patina and very clean to the interior.
