A richly carved corpus or cross, with Christ to the one side and folk art chip carved rosettes to the back, with single roof, just like the houses in this alpine region of Romania/Ukraine - this is typical Hutsul work, the Hutsul (or Hucul) were a Slavic highland tribe renowned for their folk arts and especially their intricate and skilled wood carving.
