Antique Stove Tile with Birds & Tree of Life
Ref: 4869
One of the outstanding sub-orders of Hungarian folk art were the beautiful decorative stove tiles produced by master potters in Transylvania. This is an unusual one as it is blue, this may be the undercoat prior to it being glazed (customarily in green). It is by an unknown Master from the workshop in Almas. Cracked but sound.
