Antique Shepherd’s Coffer in Orignal Grey Paint
Ref: 7126
Great look to this traditional shepherd’s chest or dowry coffer, these come from the highlands of Transylvnia and were almost always made of beechwood in a construction style that harkened back to the medieval period and earlier. The geometric decoration was folk magic intended to deter the evil eye since these chests held personal belongings, clothes and keepsakes. This one is very good condition with delightful orignal grey paint finish.
