Antique Ceremonial Camel Quilt with Embroidery

A rare piece, a camel cover, ‘kalli’ or quilt, with embroidery and applique, and rag tassels with hidden brass bells, this was trapping for a camel on ceremonial occasions and comes from the nomadic herding castes of what is now north-west India and southern Pakistan, the desert region of Thar, it could be from the Rubari tribe.
