Anatomical Model of European Woolly Pig

A rare anatomical model from Europe, these were made by expert modellers and painters often in Vienna, for educational purposes and distributed throughout the Austrian Empire, this one with labels showing it was used in a university in Romania. It gives a scientific representation in painted plaster of a sow of a breed of pig known as the Woolly Pig, cross bred from an ancient variety of Hungarian pig and the wild boars found in Serbia.
