Rare Vintage Trade Sign Model Bike
Ref: 1100
A fantastic unusual piece, not a small rusted motorbike but a model or sculpture of one, probably a trade sign designed to stand on a platform above a shop. Wooden carved parts and pieces salvaged from bicycles and bikes.
A well crafted and lovingly made piece of vintage British working class or folk art. Fits neatly into the bay window of our shop and a neat solution to the “Jubilee window display” dilemma. It is hard to think of a single item ever that has generated such interest from passers by
and it is frequently photographed. Reminiscent of an exercise bike from the 1920s we sold which went on (or at least one very like it) to
sell at Olympia Fair and be centre display piece in a new Ralph Lauren store in Regent St. A piece for a motoring or folk art collector or for decorators seeking out the rare and eye-catching talking point.
