Normally speaking a church pew from 19th century would not inspire but this one has splendid and well carved ends or finials called poppy heads making it a more than run-of-the-mill piece.
It comes from East Anglia where many original medieval poppy head bench ends can still be seen. Pitch pine, with thick seat at conventional height.
