Other » Naive Woodcut of Rugby game on Oak Panel
Ref: 0612
Wonderful 19th century antique woodcut of a rugby match with naive elements. On oak panel. Reminiscent of the most famous 19th c. painting of a rugby game by William Wollen,
The Roses Match. Was found in the south west of England and came with one more panel more naively rendered of a cricket match which gives the impression that this piece may be based on a painting or print.
Rather reminiscent of the famous 19th c. painting of a rugby match, William Wollen′s famous, "The Roses Match"
English 19th century
