Large Hand-Painted Pub Sign on Metal, "White Hart"
Ref: 6258
A superb vintage English pub sign, double-sided, on cast iron, hanging from chains, from the St Austell Brewery, and may even have been the original pub sign for the Georgian townhouse inn of the name in the centre of St Austell itself. The hand-painted sign is in vivid blue, white, black and gold & refers to the Celtic legend of the white stag whose appearance from the world of the supernatural heralded the moment of a quest for King Arthur and his knights.
