Antique Folk Art Weathervane & Clock on Oak Plaque
Ref: 5743
An amusing Victorian medieval style folk art piece, a carved oak plaque of a smiling bishop that serves as a support for an inscribed weathervane and geographical clock, these pieces are dated to the early 17th century which might be accurate although the whole piece may be a homage or fabrication to cater for the popularity of early oak at this time, either way a rare and unusual English primitive.
