An unusual characterful and rustic wooden shelf unit with ash wood spindles - these are normally cobbler’s racks or baker’s racks. This one is great condition, good size and sturdy with nice wear and patina. The form is unusual because instead of later horizontal shelving there are spindles arranged front to back. Instead of flat shelving there is a slight slope but not so much to make the piece impractical. All of this suggests the piece is older than the vast majority of pieces of this kind one sees on the market. Great for kitchen or everyday use. n.b. on our website we noted this was British it might be, it came from the collection of a dealer in the Midlands who now passed away.
