A country windsor hoop-back chair in ash and oak that stands above and apart from others in it’s class having the unusual feature of an upper tier of spindles with a shaped comb, you could call it a ‘comb-back’ in fact. The 40cm high seat is also exceptional being over 3” thick, giving the chair overall a neat mixture of ‘fine country’ and ‘primitive’. Other than that it’s excellent original condition, with nice colour and patina. From private collection.
