A marriage box, from the Bukovina, the alpine region of the Carpathians that stretches across the border of Romania and the south-western Ukraine, dated ‘1900’, it’s been carefully cleaned back to recover the original fresh colour, now you can see the confident and bravura touches of the professional dowry painter.
