Antique Georgian Oak Mule Chest
Ref: 5398
You get plenty for your money with this traditional English oak piece, it’s a sideboard, a five drawer chest and the top lifts up to reveal a box-sized compartment with miniature drawers. All superbly constructed in oak with neo-classical or georgian detailing and the smartest bracket feet. They are called mule chests, a name reflecting their ‘mixed’ identity, and associated traditionally with Lancashire. This is a good one for several reasons but primarily owing to the 5 functioning drawers, often they’re found with only two drawers and the rest dummy drawers.
