A rare cedar wood pine chest or bridal box with symbolic ‘tree of life’ motifs carved in bold relief to front - this pieces comes from the Turkoman peasant peoples who inhabited the highlands of Eastern Anatolia. Their bridal traditions were very complex and rooted in ancient folk lore. We find these pieces have a mysterious aura and their secrets are probably beyond recovery. It’s clean, solid, & in unwaxed original condition.
