A superb quality antique box bench decorated in folk style for a marriage in ‘1940’, 82 years ago, and in the most delightful colours, it’s actually a much older bench and you can see the under-paint, it was customary for piece to be re-painted for a new marriage and for a special piece like this to be re-purposed within the same family.
The seat lifts to storage compartments. It’s really substantial and a very good condition piece, mostly pine with hardwood uprights.
