A rare and impressive large original painted box bench or seat made of pine and hardwood with smart fielded panels to front and baluster spindle arm rests at either end. It has no back. A model of bench obviously particular to one town (in Moldova) where they may have had large houses with large windows, the bench sitting beneath them either on the porch or in the interior. These could be a great window seat or end of bed bench. The seat lifts to a highly practical large storage area. If you check the picture of the interior you can see white marks - this is typical of the old furniture, joiners applied a chalky material to where knots in the pine wood occurred and this stopped sap leaking out.
