A smart antique oak and pine box/bed bench in the neo-classical or Gustavian style and in the original red and black paint, the neo-classical pediment is fitted and can be removed. The scrub pine seat lifts up to reveal a storage compartment. This was orignally a bed bench too, the front pulls out to make a sleeping compartment and this is supported by the extra legs, very common in Germany and Scandinavian country benches.
