A Georgian pine and elm country settle or bench in wonderful original condition.
It's a smart one with panels to front and back and with curving arm rests with nice wear. The form is gently curving, this and in fact everything about the design was meant to enclose the sitters in front of fireside in a farmhouse or tavern draught-free. Probably from the Welsh borders or Somerset.
