A superb hand carved and painted armoire commissioned for a marriage in ‘1837’ with golden urns and red flowers, sophisticated faux-marbling, done in the typical style of the period imitating the Baroque and Rococo decorations in the churches of the region, a cartouche at the top may have the initials of the bride, the interior is shelved with a small drawers for keepsakes and pegs for hanging.
