Primitive & Diminutive 18th century Oak Livery Cupboard
Ref: 4724
The spirit of Top Withens comes to life here in this nicely sized early 18th century oak cupboard, hewn from the dense and storm blasted oak of the moorlands, these normally hale from North Yorkshire.
The wood has a great colour and has a really early and primitive, thick appearance to the front and interior. Even the back looks great. Pegs within but also pole. These were called livery cupboards and could have multiple uses for clothes or as bedroom or hall cupboard. Comes into two pieces.
Northern England, early 18th cent.
