“Harta” Folk Art Painted & Carved Marriage Cupboard

A superb example of “Harta” folk art painted furniture, a marriage cupboard dedicated to Magdalena Kuntz, in 1933, from the village of Harta in the Danubian south of Hungary, flowers, birds, owl masks, sashes, a veritable tour de force of it’s kind and in mint condition, that could easily be seen in a museum. “Harta” has been adopted as the quintessential Hungarian folk art, and is eagerly sought after by home-grown collectors, this piece has open space and shelves to interior.
