A charming antique pine marriage cupboard with painted panels depicting military riders or cavalrymen and in the lower panels urns with flowers. Along the top is finely done marble painting in blue and white.

The cavalryman was a popular and romantic image in the 19th century which took it’s place with other more familiar neo-classical imagery although is infrequently found on painted furniture of this kind where religious imagery is more common. This makes this a very good find. It’s great condition. Not too big. And has a clean and original compartmented interior.
