Large Antique Olive Jar in Original Condition

An especially sculptural example of antique olive jar, selected on the basis of it’s form which is an exaggerated version of the ‘Enyez' form, coming from the eastern border of Greece and Turkey, this pottery type forms a dramatic diamond silhouette tapering sharply at the top and bottom and with chimney shaped head, also selected on the surface appeal, it has a subtle variegated age & patination in greys, whites and blacks. Approx 140-200 yrs old.
