Bricolage Driftwood Frame
Ref: 1621
A mirror frame made by retired boat builder contemporary folk artist. Somebody told me that frames made of bleached out wood are imported from Indonesia, we went for lunch to a Thai restaurant last week and i saw one of these mirrors in the toilet, it was terrible, a few bits of wood tastelessly slapped together. This frame is a one-off piece, the pieces of wood are carefully selected for their colour and form, the curvature of some following the form of the frame, even the nails attaching them have been treated to give them a salty rusty look. This is art. And all attached to a solid base which is rebated for a mirror.
